A QUANTITY of food had to be thrown out after the fridges broke down at Tesco Express, Martley Road, Henwick Park on Friday evening.

The fridges failed to work overnight but were fixed on Saturday.

A Tesco spokesman said: "We would like to thank customers for their patience on Saturday morning whilst the repair work took place.”

The spokesman could not confirm how much food had been destroyed.
