AFTER four years, relocation and a baby boy, a part-time model and pageant contestant is making her comeback.

Nicola Brown, 26, of Evesham, is set to compete in Miss Midlands 2014 next month, and admits this is her last chance to be successful.

Miss Brown, known locally as Nix and studied at Prince Henry's High School, said: " As I am 26 years old now, this near enough my last chance as you can't compete in these pageants after you're 27, so hopefully I'm successful.

"After four years away from it, as I was busy caring for someone and then having my baby and everything else, this is a bit of a comeback, but from past experiences I know what to expect now and so should be more prepared."

Miss Brown, who lived in Peterborough and competed in Miss Peterborough 2010, moved back to Evesham where she is originally from with her partner Matt Stanway, shortly after her 14 month old son, Austin, was born.

She said she hopes to teach her son how to get the most out of life by taking part in the event.

"I want to show him he should do as much as he can to get the most out of life.

"With this event being documented, I will have evidence that I pursued something and can show it to him later in his life to try and inspire him" she said.

Several Evesham businesses have backed her.

Solution company Rubecco has donated money to sponsor her, and jewellery company Absolute Silver has donated silver jewellery for her to wear on the night.

Miss Brown said: "I massively appreciate the support I have received, I've had a lot of support since everyone realised I was entering into the competition.

"I also want to thank the businesses that have got behind me.

"It 's a really nice feeling when everyone gets behind you, and I would recommend it to young people thinking about getting into the pageant world. It gives you confidence, you make new friends and have new experiences."

Every entrant into the competition raises money for a charity, and Miss Brown is doing so for the Rainbows Children's and Young Persons Hospice, which provide care for children and their families who suffer with life limiting diseases.

If she wins Miss Midlands, she will then go on to compete in Miss England.

The Miss Midlands competition is scheduled for Thursday, August 7, in Leicester.
