AN EYE clinic based at a Worcester Hospital is expanding the services it can offer thanks to a £250,000 investment.
The Spire Eye Centre at Spire South Bank Hospital in Bath Road is benefitting from the windfall, which will be shared with the Spire Little Aston Hospital in Sutton Coldfield.
The cash has been used to buy two new pieces of equipment and hire a pair of new consultants.
Consultant ophthalmic surgeon at the Spire Eye Centre Monique Hope-Ross, who was involved in setting up the centre in 2009, said: “Advancements in the treatment of eye disease have grown exponentially over the past decade and we are now able to treat many more conditions and preserve sight for a growing number of patients.
“To do this, we need to continually invest in both medical technology and consultant expertise.
“The new scanners and laser equipment will enable patients at Spire Eye Centre to benefit from leading technology in both the diagnostic process and treatment.”
