A DROITWICH woman admitted drunkenly stealing a jar of coffee worth £2.95 from a shop in the town.
Kristina Hinton of Swan Drive appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday, where she admitted stealing the jar of Nescafe Gold Blend from Spar in Blake Avenue on Saturday, March 29.
Prosecutor Lesley Ashton said the 29-year-old visited the shop at about 7.15pm and bought something, but as she left she picked up the jar and walked out with it.
“She said she was a bit drunk and couldn’t really understand why she stole it,” she said.
“It was a stupid mistake.”
David Howarth, defending, said Hinton had admitted stealing the coffee was “a stupid misjudgement”.
The court ordered her to pay £2.95 compensation, a £35 fine, £40 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
