POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was assaulted and racially abused in Worcester city centre at the weekend.
The incident happened at about 4pmon Saturday August 2, as the victim, a 34-year-old man from Worcester, was walking along Broad Street.
He was approached by another man who knocked into him and verbally abused him, using an ethnic slur.
The offender was described as white, in his mid-20s, about five feet ten tall, wearing black headphones, a dark waist-length jacket over a black t-shirt. and blue jeans.
There were numerous members of the public present and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
To give information, call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 499s of Saturday, August 2.
