A FUNDRAISING campaign by a Worcestershire hospice has raised £32,921 in just four weeks.

Last month Primose Hospice in Bromsgrove launched a campaign to raise £100,000 to secure its future, and had reached a third of this target by Tuesday, August 5.

The hospice provides free care, advice and support to patients in Worcestershire with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Chief executive officer Helen Garfield described the sum raised so far as “amazing”.

“I would personally like to thank everyone who has donated no matter how much the amount,” she said.

“Even in today’s challenging financial climate people are putting their hand in their pocket or putting on events to support our charity.

“We have had lots of people organise events for us – one school made and sold friendship bracelets, the Kingfisher Centre in Redditch organised a cake sale, a volunteer is planning a barn dance – the list goes on.

“We are so very grateful to everyone who has supported us in any way.”

The campaign is hoping to raise the £100,000 sum for the hospice, which cares for more than 900 people every year, within 80 days.

To donate to the campaign send a cheque made payable to ‘Primrose Hospice’ with your name and address to BIG Appeal, Primrose Hospice, St. Godwalds Road, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire B60 3BW.

Cash donations can be dropped off at any of the charity’s six shops, by texting PHBA01 followed by £12 £26 or £57 to 70070, over the phone by card on 01527 889 796 or at www.primrosehospice.org/bigappeal.
