THE disruptions to Hylton Road are set to continue until Saturday morning, it has been confirmed.
The road was closed again this morning, despite being opened on the night of Tuesday, August 5, as safety tests revealed work needed to be carried out underneath the road to make it safe.
The team from Severn Trent Water are currently working to re-fill the six-metre hole too.
Three-way traffic lights are expected to be implemented by the rush-hour period this evening, to allow traffic to flow.
Re-tarmacking and clearing of the road is expected to be completed by Saturday morning, after which the road will re-open entirely, until then the three-way traffic lights will remain.
A spokeswoman for Severn Trent said: it's always our objective to get repairs and works done as son as possible, and we apologise for delays caused."
A burst water pipe originally closed the road yesterday, around 11am., but was fixed around 5pm night.
