TWO women were trapped in a convertible when they were involved in a crash with another vehicle in Warndon, Worcester.

A Land Rover Defender and a Vauxhall Astra convertible collided at about 11.30am yesterday along near the Warndon Gyratory at junction six of the M5 northbound, trapping the driver and the passenger of the Astra.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service freed the women and both were taken to Worcester Royal Hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the car was immobilised on a spinal board as a precaution and no major injuries were reported.

The male driver of the Land Rover was unhurt in the crash which caused delays at the motorway roundabout.
