WORCESTER people are some of the most romantic in the country, a survey has found.

The survey, commissioned by Two Together Railcard, also discovered that a perfect relationship for couples in Worcester consists of a four year age gap, more than five kisses a day and regular date nights.

According to the survey, 100 per cent of lovers interviewed from Worcester go on at least one date per month while one in five wine and dine their partner at least once a month - the highest rate in the UK.

Good conversation, sharing household chores and the same taste in films also came out on top.

According to the more than 2,000 people who took part in the survey nationwide, the perfect relationship was found to consist of a three and a half year age gap, five kisses a day, sex twice a week and going on at least two romantic UK breaks each year.

Sharing two hobbies, saying 'I love you' at least once a day and regarding your partner as your best friend are also signs of a lasting liaison.

Andrew Robertson, for the Two Together Railcard, said: “It’s refreshing that today’s perfect relationship is based on simple things such as meals out, travelling together to new places, daily kisses and telling each other ‘I love you’ before going to sleep.

“It was also refreshing that the research shows you don’t have to be married to be in a perfect relationship."

But it’s not an entirely dreamy existence – bad driving, leaving dirty clothes on the floor, over spending on the monthly budget and lack of washing up were all listed as things that irritate us most about our partners.
