A MUM has put on her thinking cap to come up with a way to thank a charity for making her severely disabled daughter's dreams come true.

Teenager Destiny Boyton got to meet her idol Jeremy Kyle when she visited the ITV set of the show in Manchester in June courtesy of Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Her mother Carolynne was so moved by the way her 18-year-old daughter, who has cerebral palsy and three types of epilepsy, was treated during the trip that she pledged to raise money with a mad hat tea party.

She will be opening the doors of her home at 9 Haywain Avenue, Warndon Villages from 11am for a fundraising tea party.

The 52-year-old said: "We had so much support from everyone when we visited Manchester and people going out of their way for us that we want to help pay for other children to receive the same kinds of treats.

"Hopefully we will be able to manage to raise a bit, I'm not expecting hundreds of pounds on this occasion.

"We have a Just Giving page set up for people who can't make the tea party.

"We plan to go on and do bigger things but I need to look into it a bit more because it is all quite new to me.

"I think it is going to be a wonderful event even if we just get a handful of people coming along."

Mrs Boyton said people were free to come and go throughout the day and could wear a hat if they wished.

"We're really looking forward to it."

During her overnight visit to the Manchester-based studios, Destiny, her mum and senior carer Drynda Hampson got to meet with Jeremy Kyle and the show's psychotherapist Graham Stanier.

The trio also got to watch two shows being recorded live from the green room.
