Three men found guilty of falsely imprisoning Worcester man

THREE Birmingham men have been found guilty of falsely imprisoning a Worcester man after a police investigation.

A total of seven men have now been identified and have been found guilty, or have pleaded guilty, to imprisoning the 37-year-old victim on Thursday, August 1 last year.

At Worcester Crown Court on Thursday, August 21, Kulbir Singh Bains, 40, of Gilson Road, was found guilty of conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, Tehery Mahmood, 37, of Mears Drive, was found guilty of false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm, and Steven Taylor, 37, of Johnstone Street, was found guilty of false imprisonment.

At earlier hearings at the court four other men entered guilty pleas to charges relating to the incident.

Robert Collins, 58, of Eastham Court in Bewdley, and Robert Watters, 47, of Chester Road in Birmingham, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap. Tariq Mahmood, 41, of Castle Hill Drive in Birmingham, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and Paul Murray, 43, of Linwood Court in Birmingham, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm.

All seven men will be sentenced when they appear at Worcester Crown Court on September 1.

A West Mercia spokesman said: "Today's outcome follows a thorough and lengthy investigation by West Mercia Police. We are pleased that the offenders have been brought to justice and we now await the sentencing decision."
