TODAY’S wet weather has not put a damper on tonight’s planned fireworks display marking the end of this year’s Worcester Festival.

Although some had feared the rain may have meant the free display, due to take place at 10pm at the South Quay, would have to be called off, a spokesman from the festival confirmed this afternoon it would be going ahead.

“We’ve been given the all-clear by the people organising it,” he said.

“They’ve done all the safety checks and everything is ok to go ahead.”
