A WOMAN was alerted to her 4x4 being stolen after hearing it being driven away from her home by three burglars.

Three men snuck into the yard of a farm on Moseley Road, Hallow, and drove off in a Landrover Discovery on Monday, August 18 at about 7.50pm.

The 64-year-old owner heard the vehicle leave and immediately called the police to report it as stolen.

It was spotted by officers at about 8pm on Briar Mill where it was abandoned by three men.

The men left the scene in a Black Volvo which was later found by another police patrol between Copcut Island and Martin Hussingtree.

Three men were stopped and arrested on suspicion of theft at approximately 8:10pm.

They have since been placed on bail.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen either the Landrover or the black Volvo.

PC Foxall said: “We are looking for additional witnesses in and around Briar Mill who may be able to describe the occupants of either vehicle.

"While we have three arrested, any further information will help to assist in our enquiries.”
