A SPECIALIST animal rescue team was sent to a pony which had fallen down a sloping field.
The Bromyard-based rescue team from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were assisting a vet at the field in Upper Sapey, near Bromyard just after 7.24pm last night.
Fire control said it did not know the outcome of the rescue.
Two crews from Worcester were sent to a lorry fire on the M5 northbound between junctions 7 and 6 (both Worcester) at 6.22pm.
A tyre was alight and firefighters extinguished it using a hose reel jet.
Later, a bonfire which was close to trees was extiguished by the crew.
Firefighters put out the fire in Bedwardine Road, St John's at just after 8pm.
In Kidderminster, a car was destroyed by fire off Stourbridge Road, Ismere.
Firefighters used a hose reel to put out the fire at 9.50pm.
