A PAIR of short films showcasing the care offered by a Worcester hospice have been released.

The two films produced for free by Hartlebury-based agency drpgroup show how patients and their loved ones are supported by St Richard’s Hospice, which cares for people with cancer and their families.

The charity’s care director June Patel she was “absolutely delighted” with the films.

“Our team of nurse specialists who visit patients in the community wanted to be able to show them and their families what it would be like coming into our hospice for either day care or a stay in the inpatient unit,” she said.

“Often patients are anxious and don’t realise what a bright, comfortable, homely place the hospice is – full of smiles, love, care and compassion and set in beautiful gardens.

“We are extremely grateful to the drpgroup for their skill and expertise filming our patients and staff in a sensitive way and producing such an excellent illustration of our care.”

The films’ director Phil Whitehead said it was “a pleasure” to make the two videos.

“Filming there for two days it was evident that everybody at the hospice does fantastic and inspiring work for the local community,” he said.

drpvideo director Dagmar Mackett said: “Although a lot of our work is on a national and international basis, we very much consider ourselves part of the Worcestershire community.

“As such we are extremely proud and happy to be able support organisations such as St Richard’s.”

St Richard’s Hospice supports more than 2,500 patients and family members in Worcestershire every year and its 17-bed day hospice or its 24-hour inpatient unit.
