MALVERN'S Matalan store has been the scene of heroic efforts for military charity Help for Heroes.

Once again the store on Malvern Link retail park held a collection over the four day August Bank Holiday weekend, selling promotional items such as wristbands and lapel badges and a selection of merchandise. The event was organised by store manager Liz Lewington with assistance from Malvern’s local H4H volunteer Eden Tyrrell. They were supported by additional volunteers including Malvern’s local H4H co-coordinator Tim Kidwell and volunteer Helen Kidwell, plus Steve Ollis.

"The event was again another huge success with an income of £771.11 in donations and £148 in merchandise being raised," said Mr Kidwell. "This brings the 2014 total at Matalan to a fantastic £3511.45. As always, a huge thank you from all here at H4H Malvern goes to all at Matalan Malvern for their continued and ongoing support of the charity as well as a big thank you to all the members of the public who donated or brought merchandise on the day. Your help is as always very much appreciated."
