A REVAMPED charity shop raising funds for a Worcester hospice will re-open next week.

Mayor of Worcester Cllr Alan Amos will cut the ribbon at the Acorns Children’s Hospice shop in Mealcheapen Street at midday on Wednesday, September 10.

The charity has been refurbishing and revamping all its shops including a new frontage and a change in interior design and layout.

Cllr Amos will be joined on Wednesday by staff, volunteers and supports of the charity.

Manager Abigail Day said: “We can’t wait to show off our new look to the people of Worcester who have supported us for many years.

“The refurbishment has gone really well so far and the shop is looking impressive.

“We’re all thrilled about the changes and hope it will bring customers, new and old, into the shop to help us to continue to raise vital funds to provide care and support for local life limited children and their families.

“We rely on the community for donations and volunteering and we’d love to hear from anyone who may be able to help us.

“Donating good quality items including clothing, shoes, toys, books, CDs and DVDs and household goods is a quick way to help support Acorns.

“All profits made go directly back to the charity.”
