A TEAM of top talents from the West End stage will be coming to Cradley, near Malvern, for a special evening of music and dance.

The concert, entitled a A Cradley Cabaret, is being staged by singer and actor Philippa Buxton to raise money for the Lymphoma Association.

Miss Buxton, who was brought up in Malvern and whose parents live in Cradley, said: "Last year my father was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

"The community was so good and so supportive that I wanted to do something in the village to say thank-you."

Proceeds from the concert will be shared between the Lymphoma Association and the village church, where is is being staged on Sunday, September 28, at 4pm.

Miss Buxton is currently appearing in Wicked in the West End and she has recruited fellow cast members and other friends to stage next week's show.

Between the, they have appeared in a variety of top shows including We Will Rock You, Les Miserables, The Sound of Music, Dreamboats and Petticoats, South Pacific, the BBC’s Voice and The Phantom of the Opera.

Lymphoma is currently the fifth most common cancer diagnosed in the UK, the most common blood cancer and the most common cancer affecting the under-30s Although it can occur at any age, the one in ten cancers diagnosed in children are lymphomas.

The Lymphoma Association offers advice and support to those suffering from the disease. It operates a buddy scheme aims to put people affected by lymphoma in contact with others who have had similar experiences.
