A BOOT camp run by a fitness group and a Worcester boutique raised £220 for a campaign for a new breast cancer unit.

Embrace in Reindeer Court, which offers beauty products and clothing for women affected by cancer, and Worcester Gym Alternative (WGA) – a scheme for women who want to lose weight and increase their fitness but don’t enjoy going to the gym – teamed up to run the event in aid of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign on Sunday, September 7.

Each of the 18 participants took part in a range of high-energy activities led by WGA founder Anthony Taylor with equipment including ropes and ‘magic’ weights which got heavier the more they are used.

The breast unit campaign, which has been supported by your Worcester News since it was launched in October 2009, is aiming to raise £1.8 million to build a new unit for women with the disease in Newtown Road, Worcester.
