A PIRATE themed coffee morning will be taking place at the Pershore care home Heathlands next Friday (Sept 26).

It is part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event, which raises money for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

Residents at the Sanctuary care home in Station Road will be doing their bit for the fundraiser with the pirate party between 11am and 4pm.

Everyone will be dressed to impress with eye patches and pirate hats galore, plus there will be a treasure hunt for two to four-year-olds from Stepping Stones Day Nursery, which is next door to the home and Pershore mayor councillor Tony Rowley will be arriving at 2pm to join in the fun.

Deputy manager Netty Matthews, who will be dressed as a parrot, said: “Our residents love to dress up and have fun with themed days, so they are really excited to be welcoming the people of Pershore aboard for a swashbuckling time to raise money for an amazing charity.”

At 2pm there will also be a visit from mobile zoo ‘Animal Mania’, who will be bring along creatures and critters, such as reptiles and furry friends.
