THE fourth annual ‘Eye-Q’ Quiz, in support of the charity Sight Concern Worcestershire, takes place this World Sight Day at Sixways Worcester Rugby Club.

The popular event, which will be held on Thursday, October 9, will see teams from across the county battling it out to come out on top.

Last year 21 teams took part and this year the charity is hoping to see for 25 teams including eye health professionals at county opticians, ophthalmologists at our county hospitals and supporting companies.

Victoria Merrett from Actons said: "We aim to raise £5,000 at this event to support local blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

"Your county charity, Sight Concern Worcestershire, helps people deal with the problems of losing their sight, both practically and emotionally."

The event is organised by local opticians and trustee Mr Sharma, Clinical Lead for Glaucoma and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Worcester Royal Hospital, aswell as quizmasters from Lloyds Commercial Healthcare, who will be match funding money raised.

The event is also supported by Ad-Lib Design, and Charles Robinson of Griffiths and Charles is the compere, to make for a lively, entertaining evening of fun.

Jenny Gage, chief officer of Sight Concern, added: "The Eye-Q Quiz is one of our flagship annual events, it’s a great evening and has become an established part of the social calendar for many eye healthcare professionals."
