ROLLING CASUALTY COUNT:  149

Second Battalion still entrenched north of Soupir: Sniping continued all day.  Position shelled during the afternoon.  Two killed and four wounded. Sergeant Garner, the Master Cook, being severely wounded.  

Third Battalion holding outpoint line at Chassemy.  Relieved  at 7.30 pm and marched to Grand Rozoy.

The Worcester Relief Fund: £3,400, inclusive of the amounts allocated to the Belgian Refugees.

Soldier Mechanics Wanted: Saddlers and shoeing smiths are wanted for the Expeditionary Force, the pay being 5s a day.  Men must have certificates of proficiency from their employers.  Motor drivers are also required for the Second Mounted Division, testimonials as to character and efficiency are wanted.  Applications should be made to Major Reddie, at Silver Street HQ.  

Eighth Battalion inoculated: The members of the Eighth Battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment were inoculated against enterie.  This leaves one to opine that they may be called upon shortly for service.

Worcestershire Yeoman receives Commission: Sergeant Wadams of the Worcestershire Yeomanry, now serving with the Army Veterinary Corps at Leamington, has received a commission as First Lieutenant in the Warwickshire Yeomanry.  Sergeant Wadams belongs to Alvechurch, and formerly belonged to the old 'B' company of Kings Norton and Tardebigge.

Eighth Home Service Battalion: Captain H M Griffiths, and the Reverend  Allen Berry, Chaplain, had a motor tour to the various drill stations of the Eighth Battalion, Malvern, Upton, Pershore, Evesham, Kidderminster, Kings Norton, Bromsgrove and Droitwich, and collected 250 of the red uniforms, which are to be used for some of the recruits until the proper supply of khaki is received.
