COLWALL Community Choir is looking for more members to join them and enjoy music-making and socialising around the Malvern Hills area.

The choir has about 30 members and performs at a wide variety of events and venues.

Carol Burgess of the choirs said: "Many of our members have sung in bigger, more formal choirs and in male voice and barbershop groups.

"The choir doesn’t aim to duplicate these, but fills a niche for people who want to sing shorter, more varied works. Our repertoire is geared to the strengths and tastes of members and whatever potential engagements come our way."

She said that in the past year, the choir has sung in St Joseph's Church and the Church of the Ascension, both in Malvern, the AALPs college at Hanley Castle and has gone carol-singing in Malvern.

She said: "We enjoy singing at weddings, charity events and concerts. In fact we'll use any excuse to get dressed up and sing."

Anyone interested is urged to turn up at the choir's rehearsals every Thursday evening at 8pm in term-time at the Downs school, Colwall,
