ARMY reservist, Charlotte Lawson of Claines has swopped military boots for high heels, as a Miss Worcestershire finalist.

When not serving as a reservist, she is working as an instructor at an "Xtreme Boot Camp", where she leads clients through rigorous army-style work outs

Miss Lawson, aged 22, said: "‘I spend most of my time in combat dress, either as a Reserve or instructing in boot camps

"‘I thought it would be fun to show people that I do have a feminine side too!"

She has in the Faith City all her life, and currently serves as a MUAS (Miniature Unmanned Air System) Operator with the Army Reserves based at 214 Battery, 104 Regiment Artillery, in Worcester.

Miss Lawson added: "‘I am honoured to have been chosen as a finalist for Miss Worcestershire 2014/15. I have never done anything like this before. This year I had the opportunity to train Miss England contestants and have been impressed to see how much good work they do for their local areas. I would love the opportunity to represent my home county in the same way. I think people underestimate the competition and think that it is just about outer beauty, but it’s not, and for me it a chance to put something back into my community.

"Don’t get me wrong, I love the Army and have worked hard to succeed there and will continue to do so. But I also love Worcestershire and can’t wait to get stuck into helping local businesses and charities. I am especially keen to help promote more sports and physical activities throughout the county."

The finals for Miss Worcestershire 2014/15 are being held at The Guildhall, Worcester on November 2, where Miss Lawson and the other finalists will compete in various rounds, to find the winner.
