AN elderly woman who died after falling from a window at Morgan Court, Malvern, has been named at Freda Harrison.

The 85-year-old was found dead on the patio outside her home in the sheltered accommodation in Worcester Road, on Tuesday, October 14, shortly before 3.30pm.

Police said they were treating the death as unexplained but not as suspicious.
An inquest opened into the death today.

A spokeswoman from Peverel Retirement, which manages the complex, confirmed the death of the resident at Morgan Court, on Worcester Road, earlier this week.

She said: “We are sorry to have to confirm the death of a resident at Morgan Court and would like to convey our deepest sympathy to their family.

"As investigations into the incident are ongoing, we are unable to offer any further comment.”

Morgan Court, built in 1988, has 61 one and two bedroom retirement apartments with resident management staff for people aged 60 and above.

A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said the incident had not been reported to them.

"Morgan Court appears to be a privately-managed complex of individually-occupied flats, rather than a care home.

"As the flats are private residences, HSE would not have any enforcement responsibility for issues related to them."
