A FUNDRAISING group in Worcester has handed over a donation of more than £500 to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Independent Fundraisers of Worcester raised £506.80 in total through a coffee morning, as part of the national charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign.

Jenny Goddard, area fundraising manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, who was presented with a cheque by members of the fundraising group, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to Independent Fundraisers of Worcester and their supporters.

“The money raised at the coffee morning will help make sure no-one has to face cancer alone, from the moment they’re diagnosed, through treatment and beyond."

Independent Fundraisers of Worcester will continue its charitable endeavours on Thursday, December 4, with another coffee morning at the Guidhall while on two Saturdays – December 13 and 20 – Santa will grace the Guildhall and collect donations for charity.

The first Santa event will raise money for the Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to boys and girls across the UK who are undergoing cancer treatment, and the second will support Fort Royal Community Primary School.
