STUDENTS at Droitwich Spa High School have been raising cash for three charities this week.

The school's Sixth Form Council planned a variety of quirky ways to raise cash for The Teenage Cancer Trust, Ngobit School in Kenya and Chadgrove School in Bromsgrove.

Fundraising efforts have taken place throughout the week and are due to finish on Friday (October 24)

Events included a sponsored leg wax, a family fortune-style game and a chance for pupils to pay to put their teacher in the stocks.

In addition, younger pupils spent their pocket money on a range of games and stalls, including a treasure hunt, dancing games, cake stalls, popcorn stands and a keepy-up challenge.

Head girl Rebecca Hesk organised the week alongside head boy Louis Holliday.

Headteacher Nathalie Waters said: “Charities Week is a very fine feature of school life.

"Every year there is a very special atmosphere in the school and, very importantly, it is an event led by our students.

"The ideas are theirs, the work is their own and they decide which good causes they will support."

Ngobit School is Droitwich Spa High's partner school, while Chadgrove School looks after students aged from two to 20 with special educational needs.
