TWELVE teenagers will learn about using sport as a tool for resolving conflicts.

Premier League footballers and top level coaches will come together for a special programme focused on intolerance and racism in the game.

FAIR Play – Football Against Intolerance and Racism - is being run by Malvern-based charity EIL UK with support from the University of Worcester, Aston Villa FC’s ‘Villa in the Community’ and Worcestershire Football Association.

The eight-day programme will see a group of 12 teenagers from Worcester and Aston take part in training and workshops delivered by University of Worcester coaches.

Teens will spend time working with leading anti-racism experts, meet Aston Villa footballers and community leaders, whilst creating and delivering their own anti-racism campaign.

The programme runs from Sunday, October 26 to Monday, November 2.

Craig Williams, sports coaching and development manager at the University of Worcester, said: “We were delighted to get involved in delivering this programme.”
