A CLEANER from Worcester is leading a double life as one of the country’s most exciting up-and-coming professional wrestlers.

Self-employed cleaner Katy Lees has been impressing wresting enthusiasts with her loudmouth ‘chav’-themed character Chardonnay, complete with pink Burberry and massive gold chains with the attitude to match.

Now Miss Lees, hotly tipped as the newest wresting superstar, will be returning to her home town to appear at an event at Perdiswell Leisure Centre on Saturday, November 22 run by Gloucester-based Pro Evolution Wrestling.

Promoter Lee Hall said he believed she has what it takes to make it in the WWE, or World Wrestling Entertainment – the world’s biggest wrestling corporation home to stars such as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and The Undertaker, formerly known as WWF.

“I really think she’s got what it takes to make it,” she said.

“She’s very determined, she’s physical and she’s very attractive as well.

“I truly believe she’s got the quality they look for in the WWE.”

Mr Hall said he had been working in wrestling promotion for 10 years and Miss Lees – who trains at Leicester-based Brookside’s School of Wrestling – was one of the most exciting performers he had ever dealt with.

“I had one young lady who went to America to work for WWE but it wasn’t really her cup of tea and she came back after a few months,” he said.

Appearing alongside Miss Lees at the event will be Dave Mastiff, who is currently appearing on British Boot Camp on Challenge – which is run by the world’s second biggest wrestling company Total Nonstop Action, or TNA.

Highlights at the event, which starts at 6pm, will include a heavyweight championship match and an appearance by tag team champion Gilligan Gordon.
