WORCESTER'S Christmas Fayre is not only a time to celebrate the festive season and hark back to days gone by but also a chance to support local traders.

This year's Victorian Fayre is going to be bigger than ever, with more than 150 stalls filling the city centre between the Thursday, (November 27) and Sunday, (November 30).

Traditionally the event has championed local business, and this year is no different as one of the city's most historic streets becomes the local zone.

From Thursday Friar Street will be full of stalls selling products that are at least 80 percent locally handcrafted.

One of Worcester's most unique manufacturers, the Pod, a floating studio gallery, will be moving away from their traditional narrowboat setting, instead mooring on Friar Street. With all of the Pod's work inspired by expeditions on inland waterways, the glass draws upon the lights, sights, sounds and ever-changing landscape that life on the canal brings.

For those in need of a wreath to complete their festive home decorations, Jormae Pourri, will be located on Pump Street, selling handmade wreaths, along with pot pourri, garlands, and lavender hearts.

Anna Christine Textiles will be located on the High Street. The textile maker is offering a hands-on approach to her products, allowing you to make your own woodland animals, memo boards, purses and keyrings, the perfect way to find that extra personalised present.

There will also be a multitude of local food and drink producers selling the best of local and international produce.

Cocomo Chocolate, based in Redditch, are handmade producers of the finest Belgian chocolates and will be offering up tasty treats at the food court located on the Cornmarket car park.

On the High Street visitors will also find Fudgeheaven, the Bromsgrove 'Little Devil', infamous for his recipes and creations. His latest concoctions are the handmade fuffle bars and fufflechinos, which are a combination of the finest fudge and truffle.

After such food-based indulgence, the only way to wash down the tasty treats is by visiting one of the many local drink stalls that will be selling anything from local speciality ciders to traditional mulled and English fruit wines.

With Barbourne Cider and Perry, Callow Hill Country Wine, The Friday Beer Company Ltd, Gwatkin Cider Co Ltd, Severn Cider Ltd and Three Counties Liquors all selling the best of local ales, ciders, spirits and wines, the most difficult decision is sure to be where to go first.
