The driver of an 4x4 vehicle has died after it rolled over in an off road accident.

An ambulance and air ambulance were sent to the scene at Coney Green Farm off Ribbesford Road, Stourport on Severn at 2.50pm yesterday afternoon, but could not save the man, who was in his 20s.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The field where the accident happened was about a mile down a dirt track from the main road.

"There appeared to be a sort of course that the vehicle had been following when the accident happened.

"There were two people in the vehicle: "When crews arrived they found that the driver, a man in his mid 20s, was not breathing. It was initially reported that he had head and spinal injuries.

"Other people at the location had got the man out of the vehicle and been trying to do CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation). The ambulance crew immediately started the full resuscitation protocol using CPR and drugs.

"The air ambulance arrived shortly afterwards and the driver was flown to Selly Oak Hospital with CPR continuing in the helicopter. Unfortunately it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead shortly after arrival.

"The other occupant of the 4x4 was a 15-year-old lad from Bromsgrove. There was a suggestion that he had been knocked unconscious and he had suffered a bump to the head.

"He was taken by land ambulance to the Royal Worcester as a precaution for a full assessment."
