FOUR talented students from Bishop Perowne C of E College – including the head girl and her two sisters – have been chosen to represent England in the Dance World Cup.

Head girl Imogen Fraser-Clark, aged 16, sisters Olivia, 14, and Alice, 11, and Poppy Lewis, 12, all dance at Harlequin Stage School in Worcester which has been chosen to represent the country in the world finals in Bucharest, Romania from June 28 to July 4.

The dance school has qualified an amazing 52 dances for the competition in categories from modern to ballet.

Eighty-one dancers from Harlequin are going in total.

Alice, who has been dancing for nine years, said: “It is really amazing, we have all been celebrating and we are all working hard and trying to raise £30,000 to take us all there.

"We’ve been doing everything from baby-sitting to packing groceries at a supermarket.”

The sisters are also members of the 6th Worcester Girl Guides, go to St Stephen’s Church, Gheluvelt, and play various musical instruments.

All of the girls will be taking part in Harlequin’s modern and ballet group dances.

Olivia, who has been dancing for 12 years, said: “It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"There will be dance schools from all over the world. Amazing.”

Miss Paula Dymock, principal of Harlequin Stage School, said: “I am so very proud of them all and to be chosen to represent your country really is the highest honour of all.

"We will all be working our hardest to go and compete with the best in the world.”
