IT'S the last chance to get early bird tickets for the eighth annual Throckmorton Air Show this weekend as the special price ends on Saturday night.

This year's show is shaping up to be the biggest one ever as there will be an eagerly anticipated display by the world's last flying Vulcan bomber.

The show stopping performance by the 55-year-old bomber, known for its role in the Falklands War, will be the highlight of the UK’s largest emergency services and military airshow taking place on Saturday, June 6, which each year sees a variety of planes take to the sky in daring displays.

This year the airshow will be raising money for five charities, Combat Stress, Cancer Research UK, the Royal Airforces Association, Fly2Help and the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Angus Nairn, one of the main organisers of the event, said they were hoping to see 20,000 visitors this year as the show was set to better than ever before.

"This year is set to be the biggest one so far," he said. "To have the Vulcan confirmed is great, if you see it you will be amazed."

Tickets are already on sale for the show and must be bought in advance of the day online.

Anyone who purchases their tickets before midnight on Saturday will also get a discounted early bird rate, with adult tickets costing £10 until January 31.

Organisers are also looking for volunteers to help out at the event.
