RAIL services between Worcester and Birmingham are being disrupted today after emergency engineering works had to be carried out at short notice on the line between Droitwich and Bromsgrove.

Some trains have been delayed and others cancelled as rail services using the line had to travel at reduced speeds.

Taxis have been recruited to convey passengers between Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa in both directions, while travellers between Worcester and Birmingham are being advised to use the alternative route via Stourbridge.

The disruption is set to continue until at least 4pm today, says Network Rail.
