There's a buzz at the Hive in Worcester, thanks to a new series of "Open Mic" evenings.

Young musicians, comedians, dancers, film makers and poets are invited to take part , beginning on Friday February 27, from 6pm to 8pm, and afterwards on the last Friday of every month.

Janine Downes, The Hive Library Manager said: “Our Open Mic Nights are all about providing an opportunity for young talented performers to practice and gain confidence in front of an audience, and the intimate Studio at The Hive is an ideal space for this kind of event.

“The hope is that these nights are really successful and that the planning and running of Open Mic Nights can be passed over to the performers themselves so that they can gain further experience in running events.”

She added: "They are free and open to all performers aged 12 – 18 years. "

Anyone interested in taking part can book their act in by emailing: WoLib@worcestershire.gov.uk or simply turn up on the night.

Non-performers aged 12-18 are also welcome to support friends, or just enjoy a night of entertainment.
