A lecturer at a Worcestershire college has seen her artwork selected for a prestigious exhibition in London.
Karen Stone, of Heart of Worcestershire College, fought off competition from 600 entries to see her pastel piece, Eighteen, appear at Pastel Society’s annual exhibition, this year tiled Look Again.
The adult education lecturer said: "I am absolutely delighted that my drawing has been selected to feature in the Look Again exhibition.
"My work progressively researches and utilises the process of drawing, painting and printmaking to function as a language.
"As a writer would use vocabulary and a composer would use musical score I use elements and space to 'speak' about the world around us.
"The intention is to encourage a dialogue, without being dictatorial; to instigate a journey, based on associated thought, which does not have to be logical or resolved.”
The exhibition is open to the public at Mall Gallery until Saturday, March 7.
