A SUCCESSFUL Malvern company which is celebrating its 25th year of business this year is looking to relocate just outside the town.

Essential Supply Products Ltd - or ESP for short - is described as one of the leading independent manufacturers of disposable tissue products in the UK.

The company is currently based on the Enigma Business Park in Malvern Link, but says it has now outgrown the site and wants to move to Blackmore Park, near the Three Counties Showground.

It says that there it can invest in new facilities that will support the future development and expansion of the company.

"Continual investment in our people and our manufacturing capability has allowed to us successfully expand our customer base and develop a national presence," said Isla Buchanan, the company's projects manager.

“The acquisition of Blackmore Park provides us with a fantastic opportunity to develop a first-class facility for the future development of the company, completely in keeping with our desire to continue as a Malvern and Worcestershire commercial success.

"Our operation is currently split between two units at Enigma Business Park and two at Throckmorton Airfield, near Pershore. The new site will consolidate all of these into a single location to improve our operational efficiency whilst allowing much-needed room for expansion. This expansion will, in turn, create new job opportunities, and will continue to do so as the company grows.”

The units at Throckmorton were first used after ESP's warehouse at Enigma Park, separate from the factory, was destroyed in a major fire in November 2006. The warehouse was later rebuilt. but the firm continued to use the Throckmorton site.

Founded in 1990, ESP supplies its products to wholesale distributors serving the non-consumer market, such as hotels, restaurant, and the industrial and healthcare sectors, and employs 50 people.

The new site covers 7.45 hectares and is already allocated for employment use. It was originally developed as a Second World War military hospital, and after the war, became the Blackmore Park Industrial Estate.

The war-era buildings subsequently fell into disrepair and have recently been demolished. A new office unit built recently on the northern edge of the site will remain and form part of the ESP redevelopment.

ESP is expected to submit a formal planning application to Malvern Hills District Council in the near future.
