THE skies above this year's Throckmorton Air Show will feature a range of show stopping air displays.
The latest to be named on the programme for the event on the Throckmorton airfield, near Pershore, are the Royal Air Force’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Grob Tutor, which will both appear at the show.
Six Rolls Royce Merlin engines will appear in unison when the Avro Lancaster, Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane take to the air to wow audiences this summer, at the show taking place on Saturday, June 6
It will be the first time the Lancaster has appeared at the airshow and marks a welcome return to the former RAF Pershore for the legendary bomber, Pathfinder variants of which used the site operationally during World War II.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's appearance at the show, in this year, the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, is of course a fitting and exciting addition to the display programme.
The RAF is also sending another display, the Grob Tutor elementary training aircraft. Based at RAF Cranwell, display pilot Flt Lt Andy Preece is hugely experienced and wrings maximum performance from the diminutive trainer.
This year entry to the show in Throckmorton, near Pershore, is by ticket only and these can be bought from throckmortonairshow.co.uk.
