PUPILS at Regency High School took part in a waste day, to promote environmentally friendly behaviour.
Volunteers from Love Food Hate Waste, Worcestershire County Council's master composters, Worcester Roots Foundation and David's Nursery at Martin Hussingtree were invited to the event.
The school, in Warndon, is working towards its third Eco School Green Flag.
Students attended workshops and learnt how to produce good compost, make a meal using leftover food and create useful and decorative items using recycled materials.
They also went litter-picking in the school grounds and surrounding area.
Headteacher Frank Steel said: "All of our students took part and thoroughly enjoyed the range of workshops, presentations and activities on offer.
"As well as being a fun event-filled day it also reinforced some key messages about our environment and how we can better protect it."
Anyone interested in organising their own litter pick can call 01905 722 233 or email greenspaceevents@worcester.gov.uk.
