THE organisation running Worcestershire’s three major hospitals is to include an item on whistleblowing on its monthly board meeting agenda.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust runs Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Hospital and Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital and has recently come under accusations of bullying and intimidation of staff.

In January paramedic Stuart Gardner was banned from the hospital after telling the BBC he felt care at the hospital was unsafe. Although this decision was later reversed the trust has faced other accusations and an independent investigation was recently launched into the claims.

The trust’s chairman Harry Turner said he and his colleagues believed it was important to stay abreast of any accusations levelled against the organisation as well as offering as much support as possible to employees who had concerns.

The next public meeting of the board will be held at the Alex from 3pm on Thursday, May 7.
