A YOUNG rapper from Worcester is taking his second shot at musical success tomorrow (Saturday 28).

Tudor Grange Academy student Finn Allen will perform in front of an audience of thousands at the NEC, in the regional finals of TeenStar.

Finn hopes the competition, which is open for youngsters 19 and under, can help him on his path to stardom.

The youngster, who turned 12 in February, will be performing a song by Macklemore - one of his favourite artists.

Finn, who lives with his mum Sarah in Warndon, said: "I've been practising every day, mainly the one song I'm going to do but other ones too, as I've got other shows to do.

"I'm going to be doing a half hour show [in July] which is the longest I've ever done, so I'll be able to do a few songs.

"At the moment I'm also working on my own song as well at a recording studio at school."

The NEC stage won't be anything new to Finn, as he performed on it last year as part of the Open Mic UK competition.

The youngster was inspired to start rapping by one of his school friends last year and made waves in the event, just missing out on the national final.

Sarah, who works as a nurse, said: "I'm still very proud of him.

"We've got friends and family going down to support Finn, with banners being made, and they'll all be cheering when he performs.

"People are going from Worcester and Northampton down to see him."

Finn has also recently taken part in the UK SuperTalent show, which is due to be broadcast on Sky in the next couple of months.

He is doing a 30-minute set in Stourport for a family fun day for the Josh's Prayers charity in July.
