BURSTING with energy and overflowing with emotion, this is an excellent production.

The Christopher Whitehead Language College students are fearless, the core cast a pleasure to watch and it's great to see the chorus visibly enjoy themselves.

Stephen Schwarz's musical based on the Gospel of St Matthew tells the story of Jesus first forming a community and then pushing them away as he begins to accept his destiny. Adam Charteris is more than capable in the role of Jesus. The simple set ensures the focus remains on the core cast (Joe Thorogood, Dan Thompson, James Laird, Charlotte Hunt, Beth Horne, Hannah Flynn, Sam Bluesman, Hannah Burnett), although fun props help to bring the parables they tell to life.

Thoroughly recommended, the show runs until Saturday.
