THREE cars were broken into in Malvern and a £400 sat-nav system taken from one of them.

The incidents were over-night between 8pm on Tuesday, March 6 and 12.30pm on Wednesday, March 7 but police say there is nothing that currently directly links them.

They involved: A black Ford Escort in Merton Road when nothing was taken; A silver Volkswagen in Graham Road when the Sony 'sat-nav' was taken; A blue Ford Escort in Park Close, when - again - nothing was taken.

A police spokesman said: "There is a probability that the thief - or thieves - were disturbed at the incident in Merton Road and we want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious there between 10.15pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday.

"The Graham Road theft occurred between 8pm on Tuesday and 12.30pm the following day and the Park Close incident between 11pm on Tuesday and 11.40am on Wednesday. Again, we would like to hear from anyone who has any relevant information.

"There is also a possibility that the 'sat-nav' will find its way onto the open market at some stage. We would like anyone who is offered such an item to contact us."
