RESIDENTS and businesses in Worcestershire and Herefordshire can get access to information on what to do in the event of a crisis after a new website was launched yesterday.
Set up by the West Mercia Local Resilience Forum (LRF) - a group made up of emergency services, local authorities, health and highways agencies who work together in times of emergency to warn, inform and protect communities - the website will aim to inform and ensure everyone is prepared before, during or after a major incident. There is also an opportunity to register online to receive automatic e-mails in the event of an emergency that could range from a foot-and-mouth scare to flooding, and even terrorism.
Visitors to the site will also be able to explore a list of generic risks posed to the region, the probability of them occurring, the potential impact if they do, and what measures are in place to deal with them. Visit www.westmerciaprepared.org for information.
