A LIBRARIAN is swapping her love of books for her running shoes as she gears up for the London Marathon later this year.
Alyson Noake, who lives with her family in Lower Wick, Worcester, has been training since Christmas.
Mrs Noake will be raising money for the Every Life Is For A Reason Foundation.
It's aim is to help improve the care, facilities and equipment available mainly to profoundly disabled children and young adults, living at home or in residential care.
She said: "A friend of mine who has a seven-year-old son ,has benefited enormously from the help of the foundation and a contribution from the charity has enabled the family to have a playroom specially built for him."
Mrs Noake works part-time at Pershore library and has two young children. She ran in the Gloucester 20-mile race last weekend to warm-up for the marathon To help raise funds she will hold a charity quiz night at the Bell Inn, St John's on Saturday, March, 24.
Tickets cost £2.50 per person - with a maximum team membership of six - and can be bought from Mrs Noake, who can be reached on 01905 421999, or 07896 260373
