THE county air ambulance funds have been boosted by £20,000, thanks to fund-raising by Land Rover.

The money was raised through the company's Motorvate incentive scheme, which is designed to improve attendance.

The savings made by reducing absenteeism are shared with employees and the local community.

Land Rover has supported the county air ambulance for the past four years with the loan of a Discovery 3 for the use by the charity's fund-raising department.

Phil Popham, the company's managing director, said: "The vital work of county air ambulance is of great importance to us all at Land Rover, which is why we feel so strongly about being in-volved in assisting the charity with its daily operation, including the £20,000 for funds and the use of the Discovery 3."

Paul Weir, fund-raising development manager with the county air ambulance, said: "The continuous generosity of Land Rover is making a significant difference to the day-to-day running of our service and it is greatly appreciated by everyone in the team.

"We are indebted to everyone at Land Rover for the support that they give us.''
