A HOMELESS man shouted abuse at people outside a building society in Worcester city centre, the city's magistrates court was told.
Terry Taylor, aged 43, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to using foul and abusive language in a public place, breaching the conditions of an anti-social behaviour order.
Mark Soper, prosecuting, said police officers had been called to the Nationwide Building Society in High Street on Tuesday after he was seen on CCTV going in and out of the branch repeatedly.
"When they arrived, he was sitting in a chair by the entrance generally swearing," he said.
Andrew Childs, defending, said Taylor had only got out of prison that morning and had come to Worcester to visit a probation officer, and had had a few drinks on the way.
He said it was a low-level breach of the order.
The court heard Taylor had breached his anti-social behaviour order nine times in 14 months and had been sentenced to 19 months' imprisonment as a result.
District judge Bruce Morgan said: "How distressing for people working in the building society. It must be petrifying as well as disgusting."
The case was adjourned until Friday, April 13, and Taylor was remanded in custody until that date.
