AN elderly woman has died after a house fire in Worcester on Sunday morning.
An 83-year-old lady was treated for smoke inhalation and had to be resuscitated at the scene.
Fire crews, ambulance and police attended her house on Lichfield Avenue, Ronkswood at 8am on Sunday after being alerted by the monitoring service for the elderly and disabled - Careline.
The road had to be cordoned off due to the number of appliances attending.
A fire investigation and scenes of crime unit are carrying out an investigation into the cause of the fire, believed to have been in the back room of the house.
The woman was taken to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital where she died in A&E.
