BRIDES-to-be, their fiances and their families flocked in their hundreds to Malvern to get themselves in the wedding mood.

They were welcomed to the Worcester News Three Counties Bridal Show with vibrant displays on 118 exhibition stands. Two catwalk fashion shows were also held.

The event, at the Three Counties Showground, attracted more than 1,500 visitors. It is the biggest wedding fair in the three counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

Worcester News events manager Sara Matthews said: "It has been very busy and we have had positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike.

"It's the second show we have held in this venue and we are very pleased with how it has gone."

Visitors to the show agreed. Laura Wilkinson, aged 21, of Tenbury Wells is getting married in July in a local church.

"It has given us some good ideas for our big day," she said.

For the exhibitors, it was a chance to make themselves known to the visitors and to show couples ways to get the best out of their wedding day.

Mitzi Edwards from the Bridal Gallery in Malvern said: "It is nice to take part in the fashion show. It has sparked a lot of interest. It makes the dresses look beautiful when they are on the stage."

Mrs Edwards said that because the show had such a range of displays it kept both the brides-to-be and their partners interested.

Noel Lewis from All About Marquees in Worcester said the day had been a success. "It gives us the chance to show people what we can offer in terms of marquees and the extras such as the designs, cakes and catering. We have had lots of interest today."

Also on display were chocolate and champagne fountains, ideas for wedding favours, cakes, photographers and classic cars.
