THE popular antiques show Flog It! is coming to Worcester later this month.

The BBC 2 show, along with its presenter Paul Martin, will be at the Guildhall on Sunday, March 25.

People are invited to take along heirlooms, collectables and antiques they might be interested in putting under the hammer at auction.

Hundreds of items will be valued and some of them, chosen by a team of experts, will be put forward for auction.

Previous programmes have seen a small cream jug sold for £1,300; a ceramic bowl, bought for just £4 at a car boot sale, reach £1,500; and a Shelley tea set owned by a woman in Aberdeen going for an impressive £3,400.

Everyone who goes along to the valuation day will have their item valued - even if it is not chosen to go forward for auction.

The programme makers say it is the ideal opportunity to find out if that boot sale bargain or all that clutter stuck up in the loft is actually worth something after all - as well as to meet presenter Paul Martin, who is as popular with fans of the show as the antiques.

Flog It! will be at the Guildhall, on Worcester High Street, from 9.30am until 4pm.

Mr Martin was discovered when he was interviewed by a television crew about his passion for oak furniture. His natural confidence in front of the camera resulted in him being immediately signed up to present the daytime antiques show.

Before his television career, he owned an antiques shop specialising in 17th and 18th century English and Welsh oak furniture and he is currently halfway through presenting the fifth series.

The Flog It! auction will take place at Philip Serrell auctioneers and valuers, the Malvern Saleroom, Barnards Green Road, Malvern, on Thursday, May 10.

The show will be broadcast later in the year.
